Say welcome to Kyle Mealey, one of our new paid media strategists. Get to know him in our blog post below.
Where are you located and what is your favorite thing about it?
Baltimore City, MD. Baltimore is full of history and located right on the Chesapeake bay, making it the best place in the country to get a crab cake. Being from Maryland is great, growing up within a couple of hours of both the beach and mountains makes the possibilities endless.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Rock Climbing, Biking, fly fishing, camping, hiking. Anything outside really!
Bucket list item(s).
Climb one big wall in Yosemite NP, see the northern lights in Alaska or Iceland, backpack Europe, lots of other things I’m sure that I can’t quite think of.
What’s your passion project?
My passion projects typically revolve around two things: adventure and challenges. I like to pick a beautiful place and set a challenging goal. Most recently, that was hiking ten miles per day while traversing the big 5 National parks in Utah right before I joined the Mad Fish team. The next project is still in the brainstorming phase!
Why did you pick Mad Fish?
I chose Mad Fish because of their dedication to not only making their company a better place to work at, but also for their commitment to making the world a better place to live in. Environmental conservation has always been an issue that I’ve been passionate about and have actively tried to do my part to limit my footprint on the earth and it’s nice to work for and with people who are committed to the same.
Favorite marketing resource (blog/podcast/website/tool) and why?
Skillshare has been a great resource for me over the last several months. It helps re-create a learning environment while also integrating “fake” projects to help hammer the skills home. Most recently, I took a class on Tableau to help with my data visualization skills.
Favorite genre of music to work to/link to your favorite Spotify playlist to listen to at work?
I think it would technically be indie rock or folk, but I like to listen to Lo-Fi while I work too.
Fun fact about yourself.
I’ve been to 15 National Parks!
Denali, Yellowstone, The Grand Tetons, Great Smoky Mountains, Shenandoah, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, Arches (Utah Parks x2. Big fan of the desert, even got a tattoo to commemorate the first trip through the big 5), Acadia, Rocky Mountain, and the Badlands of South Dakota.
If you have a pet, tell us about it.
Our family dog that resides with my parents, Copper. He’s a mischievous and energetic chocolate lab!
What do you add to the team outside of work?
All the National Park recommendations and stories you could ask for!
