Where are you located and what is your favorite thing about it?
I’m in Lake Oswego, OR. My favorite thing about it is the safe neighborhood feel – kids play in the street, neighbors wave, and people generally look out for one another.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love being outside with my husband and toddler. Year round we do a lot of hiking. In the summer we are out kayaking, camping, berry picking, or checking out a new park.
Share some of your bucket list items!
My bucket list items revolve around eating. Someday I plan on taking an eating tour through Italy, and a street food tour through Osaka, Japan.
What’s your passion project?
I would love to take on more of an active role mentoring in my Women in Technical SEO online community.
Why did you pick Mad Fish?
I’m a boomerang employee! I originally left Mad Fish to gain experience on an in-house marketing team. When I was presented with the opportunity to return I couldn’t turn it down. A lot of companies boast DEI initiatives, but Ben and Corrie have truly created such a positive work environment where all employees are treated with dignity and respect.
Can you share a favorite marketing resource?
Honestly I’ve learned so much from others. I highly recommend finding your community – whether it’s on Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, a newsletter or local group – anything that connects you with other people.
What is your favorite genre of music to work to?
It really depends on the type of work I’m trying to get done. If I need to do some deep focus work I’m listening to instrumental covers.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I love cooking! I literally plan and cook dinners for every night of the week. I like to try cooking cuisines from all over the world and love me a new spice.
If you have a pet, tell us about it.
Does a feral toddler count? Just kidding! We have two cats – Bean and Scout! Scout was named after a character in To Kill a Mocking Bird and lives up to the name – he’s adventurous, mischievous, and annoying. Bean was named after a character in Ender’s Game and kind of lived up to his name – quiet, small, and fierce.
What do you add to the team outside of work?
A hiking buddy, happy hour pal, an advocate, and the strong will of a mother.
