Internet marketing is an ever-changing field. Every day there are new tools, new tactics and new ways to promote your business. These are some ideas to help you get more quality traffic to your website.
Create “Shareable” Posts
It’s already 2013, so I hope that by now you have social sharing buttons like these ones on every page of your website:
But that’s not enough to make a post “shareable.” You also need to make sure that each blog post you write has a page title, a meta description and a featured image. This is because you want to control how your posts appear when they’re shared on Facebook, Google Plus and LinkedIn. Here’s an example:
If you use WordPress, All in One SEO Pack allows you to customize your page titles and meta descriptions, and here’s a tutorial on setting the featured image for your post.
Facebook Targeting Feature
Until last year, all your fans had to see all your updates. But what do you do when you have an update that is only relevant to older people, or people who live in Florida, or married people? Now you can target your posts to the users you want to reach.
Keep in mind that this option is only available to pages, not personal profiles.
Facebook Negative Feedback Feature
Did you know that you can see which posts on your Facebook page aren’t engaging your fans? Go to your Facebook Insights and click on Export Data.
Then choose to export “Post Level Data.”
Now open the spreadsheet using Excel and look for these columns:
The third column is the number of unique users who didn’t like the posts; the fourth column is the total number of negative feedback received. Use this information to learn what your fans like and what they don’t.
Facebook Gifts
Have you noticed that Facebook now allows you to give gifts to your friends?
So, how can you have your products listed in Facebook’s marketplace? It’s actually fairly easy. Just fill out the application here and you’ll hear back from Facebook soon.
Have a great 2013, and make the most out of Facebook!
