Mad Fish Digital’s EDI Statement
Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) are at the heart of Mad Fish Digital and our mission of being the best agency for the world. Centering our employees first, and in partnership with our clients and community, we honor diverse lived experiences and perspectives and condemn discrimination and injustice. We commit to holding ourselves accountable for what we know is right while continuing to learn from those around us. Mad Fish celebrates the diversity between and within our employees and our partners. We strive to be genuine in our efforts in creating a more inclusive, equitable, and just world.
Mad Fish Digital’s employees, clients, and partners create a diverse community of age, color, mental and physical abilities, ethnicity, family status, gender identity and expression, language, national origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, military status, and other characteristics.
We continuously work to support a culture where Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion are not only celebrated and practiced, but are also weaved into the very fabric of our company.
How We’re Putting JEDI Into Practice
To put our commitment to racial equity into practice, Mad Fish has an employee-led JEDI Impact Team, which meets bi-weekly to advance initiatives in the following areas:
Justice
Advocating for historically marginalized communities inside and outside of Mad Fish Digital.
Equity
Ensuring that our actions as a company, both internally and externally, are transparent and equitable, from hiring to pay equity and beyond.
Diversity
Actively recruiting employees, clients, pro-bono partners, and vendors from a diversity of lived experiences and perspectives.
Inclusion
Ensuring that employees, clients, and partners at Mad Fish Digital feel included and celebrated with every part of their identity, and amplifying the voices of those who have been underrepresented.
Members of our JEDI Impact team actively develop proposals that are presented to Mad Fish Leadership and the broader team. Participation in the JEDI Impact team is open to all employees at Mad Fish, and members are asked to commit to participating for at least a full year.
External Accountability
As a predominantly white leadership team, we recognize the importance of selecting a long-term partner to help us audit and improve our policies and actions as an anti-racist organization. Steps that we are taking include:
Auditing options for a top-down approach to integrating anti-racism in all of our policies and work
Creating systems of accountability for leaders, managers, and individual contributors around social and environmental goals
Getting outside practitioners to support our mission, creating a safe space for all employees to voice their concerns
Partnering with an outside JEDI consultant to guide the design and development of an accountable and effective EDI system
Revising company-wide systems to center equity for all employees
