I’ve read over 230 business books. I know this because I just checked my Amazon purchase history. I also took the time to make a list of the 10 books that had the greatest impact on my business and myself.
Don’t forget to share your favorite books in the comments section below. I’m always looking for great books.
The Magic of Thinking Big

I strongly believe there’s a direct correlation between how big one dreams and how much one accomplishes. And what I found is that going for something 10x as big only takes 10% more effort. Just do what nobody else is willing to do, what seems to be “too hard” for others. I loved this book.
Ready, Fire, Aim

When I used to be a perfectionist, this book taught me to stop planning so much and start doing more.
The Knack

This book is full of stories, which makes it very easy to read.
The Art of the Start

Guy Kawasaki is one of my favorite people on Earth. He tells it like it is and in his book he shows a unique perspective on startups.
What Got You Here Won’t Get You There

Managing people is, without a doubt, the most difficult thing I’ve done in my life. I can get myself to do whatever I want; I have a lot of discipline. But when it comes to managing other people, you can’t do it the same way you’d like others to manage you. Managing people is sometimes counterintuitive. That’s why I recommend this book so much.
Your Brain at Work

Understanding how your brain truly works will give you an almost unfair advantage. This book has helped me increase my productivity more than anything else I’ve read.
Topgrading

I’ve learned that there’s nothing more important in business than hiring the right people. And when hiring, you can’t just “trust your instinct.” This is, by far, the best book I’ve ever read on hiring.
Simple Numbers, Straight Talk, Big Profits!

If you’re not a big fan of finances, but you need to know enough about them to run a business, this is a great book.
Pitch Anything

Whether you’re in sales or not, you’re always selling; you’re always persuading people, selling ideas or selling actual products. This is a fantastic book that talks about how the human brain works and the best way to get people to pay attention to you and go for your ideas.
Rework

This book is all about “the new way of doing business.” It’s the common-sense bible to run a lean, profitable business. Highly recommended.
I’d love for you to share, too. What are your favorite business books?
